What is death education? It is how you learn about the various aspects of dying and death. It is where you can learn what it takes to get your ducks in a row before you die, giving yourself and those you care about more room to enjoy life in the present.
What does it mean to be death positive? It is the belief that acknowledging death should not be something taboo, and that an interest in our own mortality is neither morbid, nor something to be ashamed of. This concept is explored in great depth in The Order of The Good Death.
Death is change. Change is an emotional thing. Emotions take energy. But once we observe and acknowledge our feelings, we can find what we have control over, focus on a goal, and begin building solutions for moving forward. When we apply change management and resilience building models to learning about death and dying, we can handle anything life throws at us.
